Day 4

Kuya Alfred and his co-workers started the concrete walling of the laundry area. As agreed, it will be a 5-layered concrete hollow blocks with steel fence from wall to ceiling. We used 20 pcs of square metal bar 9.45mm thickness.

We forgot to tell kuya alfred that we wanted to have an emergency exit in the laundry area, but he said that it's not a problem because he can just customize the metal fence. So we'll just wait for kuya alfred's update for the emergency exit door.

Unexpected Shopping...

I am so happy that it's Sunday because this is the best time to relax after a stressful week. So, Dwyt and I decided to have window shopping and dinner in Ayala Center. We went to the department store to check for lighting fixtures, wooden bed, wardrobes and tables.

Both 4-seater dining table is perfect for our temporary dining area soon to be an mini-entertainment room. In the end, its Dwyt's 1st choice that prevails because according to him, it is unique in style.

Dwyt really liked a 4-door wardrobe but because of the limited space in the bedroom we decided to choose his 2nd choice of wardrobe (for only Php6,885.00.

We did not expect to buy these things instantly but since it was on sale, we just grabbed the opportunity. We added Php380.00 for the delivery charge of the two items.

Day 3

First thing in the morning, Dwyt went to the DECA office to follow-up our temporary electrical connection, unfortunately the staff informed Dwyt that they will no longer allow temporary connection and she told Dwyt to talk to the engineer on site on how to solve the electrical connection problem. This time, we were really mad because they gave us our PTO without water and electrical connection!

Adding the burden, we talked to the engineer and he told us that he can give us temporary connection provided that first, we buy a 70-meter stranded wire size# 8 in order for us to connect to the nearest post,  second, provide our own electrical engineer to do the connection and lastly, shall not be allowed to use the electricity after 5:00PM! What?! (crazy engineer) Dwyt told the engineer that the restriction of the use of electricity beyond 5:00PM is not possible hence the place is not safe without lights.

We were getting used to it, all the burdens and problems they've caused us.

Good thing that kuya alfred is an Electrical Engineer, he volunteered to do the wire tapping for connection. They also started the slab portion (will be the laundry area) at the back and prepared the plumbing and ventilation work.

Day 2

The materials were delivered early in the  morning, however the weather wasn't cooperative with us hence the slab and ceiling insulation work was postponed. Instead, kuya alfred started tiling the floor and applying primer and gypsum putty to all concrete walls.

Covered the Wooden Stairs

When Dwyt and I visited our unit, I was thankful to kuya alfred because he covered the wooden stairs to prevent from getting dirty. Also, he removed all the floor tiles from their boxes to check if there were broken tiles. So, we returned 11 pcs of tiles to CitiHardware. (Note: CitiHardware will not replace broken tiles if they found out that the tiles were installed already, they will check the back portion if there are cement or adhesive that sticks to it.)

Another thing, it's already in Day 2 and still no electricity.

Day 1

Since the materials are yet to be delivered the next day, kuya alfred and his co-workers decided to clean the unit, crapped out the doors in the CR in preparation for the new PVC doors to be installed, prepare the CR wall for additional wall tile and prepared a tile layout for the floor.

Also, the DECA contractors were slowly doing the repairs of our unit like plumbing works and paints (but I'm still not happy about what they have accomplished).
