This is a very late update for our home renovation because dwyt and I were so busy buying things for the house and preparing for the house warming. But this is the output for the 12-day renovation.

• Kuya Alfred's work - 3/5 Follows instruction but the execution is not satisfactory. There were back jobs and we can no longer contact his number.
• Atlantic Hardware - 4/5 Very cheap materials especially on the paint supplies and moldings but I will not recommend to buy your tiles here because it is expensive compared to other hardware. Make sure to do business with them at an early hour because processing of orders will take 2 hours and more, very frustrating.
• Citihardware - 4.5/5 Very accommodating staff. Most of the things you need are already available. Tiles here are very cheap and you can also ask for discount for items bought in bulk.
• Cebu Home Builders - 3.5/5 Most of the items were expensive compared to other hardware. Good thing is they can mix paint for boysen. Tiles are also cheap as well as home accessories.
• Ace Hardware - 4/5 Very accommodating staff and trusted seller for stainless steel products. They are cheap when it comes to lighting materials.

Day 9

Finally, our CR renovation is done. The tile grout is applied and the fixtures were installed but still no water connection (already a headache!!!).

Experience:
Renovating a CR with a dimension of 1m Width x 1.8m Length was very difficult, because you have to plan carefully in order to avoid cluttered fixtures and wrong color combination. These were the things that Dwyt and I have done and learned before and after the renovation.
1. Plan Carefully. Using a steel tape, Dwyt measured the width, length and height of the CR and I sketched it using Sweet Home 3D.
2. Color Scheme. Based on my research, to make smaller space look bigger, pastel colors should be used. Since our CR already have an existing blue floor tiles and a blue stripe tiles, we both agreed to buy a blue plain colored tiles for the remaining half portion of the wall.
3. Buy stainless steel items. Please do not use plastic or chrome items for the CR as much as possible because these type of material easily gets damaged.

Day 8

It's already in our 8th day of renovation still there is no water connection and no permanent electricity connection.

Laundry Area

 I told the kuya alfred to use the damaged or broken tiles in the laundry area, and this is the output, they call it crazy cut tiles.

 The wall tiles used are those in the CR, we just added 6 pieces of it.

Day 7

This is kinda late for me to post the renovation updates because of my busy schedule, however this was the output of the first coating of wall paints.

For the violet room, one side of the wall is dark violet and the rest of it will be lighter in shades.

 For the yellow room, one side is darker in shade and one side will be painted in stripes.

This is the finished product of the hanging cabinet and this is also the wall color for the hallway.

So, I was a bit hesitant for the colors of the moldings, that's why I told kuya Alfred to paint one part with slate gray and the other part with white, to check the color combination. Dwyt liked the slate gray color and so do I. For the moldings, it will be slate gray and for the walls in the hallway and open area, it will be autumn mist (bluish gray) color.

Day 6

As expected all Hardiflex cement board were tucked and they also started applying putty and filler to all walls and cropped out the solid wall at the back.

All the paints were delivered, so dwyt and I need to decide the shades of colors for the walls. We will be using Boysen Permacoat Latex Semi-Gloss Paints.
For the yellow room using "Lemon Chill" color, we decided to have one side to be darker and the other two sides to be pastel yellow plus a yellow stripes accent in the window area .

For the violet room will be "Hyacinth", one side darker and all remaining sides will pastel in color.

For the open area, it will be an "Autumn Mist" color.

For the cornices and baseboards, it will be "Slate Gray" color.

Yesterday, we told kuya alfred that we wanted to have an exit door in the laundry area, so this is the outcome.

Day 5

After the delivery of the cement board (hardiflex), kuya alfred started the setting of the wall partition. He actually started the placing of the studs and tracks. He also put the door jamb for the two rooms.

After placing all the tracks and studs, kuya alfred applied putty to the storage cabinet while his other two companions continued the floor tiling.

Floor tiling is almost done, so maybe tomorrow we can buy paints and mouldings.

Day 4

Kuya Alfred and his co-workers started the concrete walling of the laundry area. As agreed, it will be a 5-layered concrete hollow blocks with steel fence from wall to ceiling. We used 20 pcs of square metal bar 9.45mm thickness.

We forgot to tell kuya alfred that we wanted to have an emergency exit in the laundry area, but he said that it's not a problem because he can just customize the metal fence. So we'll just wait for kuya alfred's update for the emergency exit door.
